Columbia Gorge Hotel & Spa

Loved my visit to Columbia Gorge Hotel. My room was cozy and the bed was comfortable w plenty of extra pillows stashed in the closet! The view from my room was lovely. Staff at the front desk was helpful and friendly. The grounds were beautiful even in the snow, and it was easy to get into town for dining and a little shopping in Hood River.

This place is very beautiful! The rooms are nice and very well priced. The only thing I was disappointed with was the fact they had very minimal Christmas decorations inside. My husband and I stayed there years ago, (apparently under different management) and they had at least a dozen 10' Christmas trees placed throughout the hotel. It was absolutely gorgeous and magical. That was the whole reason we wanted to go back. They only had 1 large tree in the lounge and interior decorations were very minimal. Still worthy of a visit. EDIT: this is to the staff member who replied to my comment on my review stating they weren't sure where they could put more Christmas trees. Your building hasn't gotten bigger since I stayed there last, so obviously there are places to put other trees. When I was there before, there were trees on each landing of the stairwells. There was a tree in the lobby, there were trees at each corner of the dining room. There were also trees on each floor. This time I only saw the tree that was in the corner in the lounge area. Also, I read some of the other reviews and frankly some of your responses are incredibly condescending.

The Staff at front desk were great, warm welcoming and super accommodating! Our room was the perfect size for my husband's needs in a wheelchair and walker. A grab bar at the toilet would have been a welcome addition, I would advise adding this feature for safety! Food good and wait staff good. It was a fun weekend. Thanks so much.

Hotel was classic and awesome. Bed was super comfy. Staff was friendly and helpful. Grounds were super sweet. Only reason not excellent was the bartenders didn’t know how to make a hot toddy for my wife. She is a lifelong bartender and had to teach both tenders the proper drink recipe. Other than that top notch and we will be back!

This hotel is a beautiful hidden gem along the Columbia River Gorge! The grounds were beautifully manicured with flowering plants, trees, and waterfall! The riverfront views are amazing! The inside of the hotel was beautifully decorated, our room was comfortable, including the bed and pillows, and the staff was very friendly. We had dinner in the hotel restaurant and it was appealing and delicious. We loved our stay here and would definitely recommend! I would stay here again!

The hotel was easy to find and easy to access. Right off of the main road out that way. Since the elevator is over 100 years old, you need staff assistance. We just walked up to the 2nd floor. The lines on the stairs can make your eyes bug out and cause vertigo. Use the handrail! Our room was tucked in the corner on the far left of the hotel. We had a garden view and could see a small part of the stream. It was our only choice during the booking. The room was large, decorated nicely, and clean. I would even consider it 'huge' compared to a lot of other hotel rooms. Even the bathroom was huge. Everything looked in good shape but kept with the old-timey feel. We walked the grounds and enjoyed the peace, quiet, and views without plans to do anything else. If we had to complain about anything, we would say that our dinner wasn't all that. The mushroom ravioli and the steak were not up to par in our opinion. We've had better for way cheaper. Breakfast was fine but we were charged $8 for coffee. Instead, we should have walked out the door to the complimentary coffee in the lobby. Service, however, was excellent. All the staff was great. Our other gripe would be that the bed was a little hard, but hey, it's a hotel. You get what you get. At least it was clean! We could have stayed another night but had to get back. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.
